Job Description

As Purchasing Team Lead / Material Readiness Planner at NTS Singapore, you will play a key role in ensuring that the right materials are available at the right time to support our production priorities. You will lead and coach the Purchasing / Operational Buying team while coordinating closely with Material Planning, Production Planning, Master Planning and Engineering. You will translate MRP requirements into actionable purchasing activities, monitor supplier commitments and proactively manage shortages and delivery risks. With a strong focus on execution, you will also contribute to improving purchasing processes, ERP usage and material readiness visibility.

Furthermore, your key responsibilities are:

• Lead, coach and support the Purchasing / Operational Buying team, including workload allocation, capability development and performance follow-up;

• Translate MRP output into actionable purchase requirements and ensure material readiness for the frozen production window;

• Manage supplier PO confirmations, rescheduling and expediting, while driving improvements in on-time delivery performance;

• Monitor material shortages and delivery risks, lead or co-lead shortage review meetings and develop recovery and preventive action plans;

• Work closely with Master Planning, Material Planning, Production Planning and Engineering to ensure purchasing actions reflect true production priorities;

• Improve PO management workflows, ERP usage and material tracking processes, including Navision or equivalent systems;

• Contribute to Supply Chain Excellence initiatives and the development of dashboards for improved material readiness visibility.
  

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations or a related field;

• 5–10 years of experience in purchasing, materials planning or supply chain operations;

• Experience leading a small team is preferred, with the ability to coach and develop team members;

• Strong knowledge of MRP, purchase order management and supplier follow-up;

• Experience with ERP systems such as Navision or equivalent;

• Experience in HMHV / HMLV manufacturing is advantageous;

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with a calm and execution-focused approach under pressure.
