Job Description
As Supplier Quality Engineer at NTS Singapore, you will lead supplier qualification, audits, and performance improvement while ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and driving robust quality systems. This role involves driving corrective actions, supporting new product introductions, and collaborating cross-functionally to improve manufacturing processes and supplier quality outcomes.
Furthermore, your key responsibilities are:
Supplier Quality Management
Lead supplier qualification, evaluation, and onboarding, including APQP and part qualification processes
Conduct supplier audits (process, system, and product) and ensure timely closure of findings
Drive supplier corrective actions (SCAR) using structured methodologies (8D, RCA)
Work closely with suppliers to improve process capability, reduce defects, and enhance overall quality performance
Quality Systems & Compliance
Maintain and improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and related procedures
Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with applicable standards and company requirements
Product & Process Quality
Review and approve First Article Inspection (FAI) / PPAP submissions for new and revised parts
Develop and implement inspection and control plans for critical components
Provide hands-on inspection support when required
Performance Monitoring & Improvement
Monitor, analyze, and report supplier quality performance metrics
Lead supplier performance reviews and scorecard meetings
Identify high-risk or critical suppliers and drive targeted improvement initiatives
Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Production teams to address quality issues and align improvement priorities
Support new product introduction (NPI) activities from a supplier quality standpoint
Job Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with direct exposure to supplier quality
Hands-on experience in supplier quality management, including supplier qualification, audits, and performance management
Strong practical experience in SPC, FMEA, and structured problem solving (8D)
Experience working with machining suppliers (CNC, fabrication, precision components) is highly preferred
Certified Quality Auditor (internal or external) with demonstrated audit execution capability
Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T and specification requirements
Solid machining and manufacturing process knowledge (turning, milling, fabrication, surface treatments, etc.)
Proven ability to conduct process audits at suppliers and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
Demonstrated capability to work directly with suppliers to improve process capability and product quality
Good working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems
Experience in APQP, PPAP / First Article Inspection (FAI) and supplier qualification processes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset
Experience managing supplier performance metrics and scorecards
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills (internal teams and external suppliers)
Self-driven, able to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a hands-on approach
