Job description

What we do together is what makes us stronger. Due to an increase in High Tech projects, we are looking for a Technology Angel for our Development & Engineering department in Brno. You report directly to the Competence Manager.

Customers do not tell us what they want to see us make, they tell us their problem. The role of Technology Angel is to translate this problem in a suitable solution. During the process that will follow, several people will be working on your design. You keep track of the situation and status to make sure the technical side of the projects to keep everyone on board!

Job Responsibilities:

Market Knowledge:

  • The technology angel is a technological expert in a market/technology and the key asset in the Key Account team to translate market insights, technology trends and the customers technical roadmap into winning value propositions for NTS. Has deep knowledge about relevant NTS and competitor’s competences.

Relationship Management:

  • The technology angel is initiating and maintaining strong relationships with technical influencers and decision makers at the customer and is a bridge builder into the NTS organization for technological questions.
  • Earns the trust of the customer to be engaged in technological roadmap discussions. Engages in open discussions with customer in market developments and trends.

Strategy:

  • The technology Angel is a driving the definition and execution of the technology roadmapping part of the key account plan. The technology manager translates the customer roadmap into concrete actions within the NTS organization.

Proposal Management:

  • The technology angel is a key contributor to customer proposals from a technology perspective and drives the team to offering the best possible solution according to the identified needs and roadmap of the customer.

Operational Support:

  • The technology angel is supporting the program manager and operations where technology related matters are causing issues or offer room for improvement. Consults in identifying system design improvement projects and aligns herein with the program manager.


Main Activities:

1. Customer (Technology) Roadmap​

  • Investigate, clarify, document and disseminate Customer Products, Technologies & Roadmap​
  • Use templates for documenting ​

2. R&D Networking ​

  • Liaise with customers’ D&E managers & technologies ​
  • Derive roadmap information ​
  • Translate into NTS competences or capabilities ​

3. (Major) RFQ Support​

  • When RFP/RFQs come in: ​
  • Help to assess technical scope ​
  • Help to assesss strategic importance ​
  • Help to design the ‘winning proposal’​
  • What is the underlying customer pain? ​
  • What is customer’s perception of the challenges to be addressed? ​
  • What is the right approach to tackle the challenges? ​

4. Projects: support escalations/steerco’s ​

  • Issue clarification and possible solution routes ​
  • NB: Technology angel is not problem owner

Job requirements


Job Requirements:

  • Master/PhD degree in Engineering (Mechatronics, Physics or similar)
  • More than ten years solid background in setting-up, maintaining and optimizing functional architecture of mechatronics system design in a multidisciplinary (Mechatronics, Dynamics, Motion Control, Embedded SW, Electronics) context
  • Expert in assessment and mitigation of technical risks using dynamics analysis or creating proof of principle prototypes and designing and performing verification experiments and qualifications
  • Experience with predictive modelling, FEM analysis and multi-physics simulations is a must
  • Experience with vacuum applications, applied optics, opto-electronics or laser technology is an advantage
  • Interested in and up to date with recent mechatronics product, actuators and sensor technologies and process level technologies
  • Well-developed communication and social skills with a pragmatic attitude. You know how to convey complex topics in an understandable, pleasant and convincing fashion
  • Open minded, customer oriented, proactive and determined
  • Showing leadership skills and strong stakeholder management
  • Proficient in English language
