Job description
Hello experienced Quality Manager, we’re looking for you! Would you like to work for a high-tech manufacturer operating at Champions League level, where quality down to the micrometer makes all the difference? At NTS Drachten, you’ll have the opportunity to take quality to an even higher level. Are you analytical, decisive, and energized by improving processes? Then keep reading.
Imagine this: it’s Monday morning and you walk onto the production floor at NTS Drachten. The smell of fresh metal, the precision of the measurement room, and the focus of your colleagues, everything breathes high-tech. Unique components are produced here for international players in the semiconductor, analytical, and medical industries. You greet your colleagues from the measurement service and step into the meeting room for the weekly meeting with your quality team.
Today, you’ll discuss the progress of a customer complaint, check with the engineers on actions from the latest audit, and align with the Production Manager on process improvements. In the afternoon, you’ll join a customer call. Expectations are high, but that’s exactly where you make the difference: with your knowledge, tact, and persuasiveness, you bring calm, clarity, and solutions. Together with your team, you dive into RCAs (Root Cause Analyses) to not only address symptoms but to truly solve the underlying causes.
Tomorrow? Then you’ll have an internal session planned to further improve the QMS. Together with your team, you analyze processes, identify connections, and secure the improvements in the system. You work methodically but with a healthy dose of pragmatism. This way, you contribute directly to the continuity of the organization and the satisfaction of our customers. A role full of variety, responsibility, and impact, exactly what you’re looking for.
About the role
As Quality Manager at NTS Drachten, you are responsible for the quality, safety, and environmental policy at our Drachten site. You lead seven direct and six indirect colleagues, including quality engineers and employees from the measurement service and measurement room. Together, you ensure that our products meet the highest standards in the high-tech industry.
You are the go-to person for customers when it comes to quality questions or escalations and work closely with the departments Production, Supply Chain, and NPI, while advising the MT. You translate high customer expectations into concrete policies, processes, and behavior.
Your responsibilities include:
Leading the quality team (quality engineers, measurement service, and measurement room).
Ensuring an effective Quality Management System (QMS).
Coordinating and improving processes related to complaints, audits, and customer satisfaction.
Maintaining contact with international customers in the high-tech industry.
Identifying deviations and improvement opportunities and translating them into structural solutions.
Driving the development of ISO 13485, preparing and coordinating customer audits, and following up on the resulting actions.
Creating structure, priorities, and overview within the team.
About you
You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree, for example in Engineering or Quality Management.
You have experience with quality systems (preferably ISO 13485).
You are a strong communicator, persuasive, and confident.
You have leadership experience in a production environment and know how to coach and guide teams.
You are familiar with a high-tech production environment, for example in the semiconductor or analytical industry.
You combine analytical ability with pragmatism and can distinguish main issues from details.
Most importantly: you take ownership, bring calmness, and want to move forward.
What we offer
We offer you an independent position with plenty of responsibility and room for your own ideas. You’ll be working in an inspiring environment where quality truly matters.
In addition:
A competitive salary based on your experience and qualifications (own salary scale, Metalektro CLA).
27 vacation days and 13 additional ADV days.
An excellent pension plan via PME.
Travel allowance of €0.21 per kilometer (minimum 10 and maximum 50 kilometers one way).
A company laptop and mobile phone.
A contract for 36–40 hours per week.
A workplace in our modern building in Drachten.
Where you will work
NTS delivers unique solutions for complex high-tech challenges. We develop, produce, and assemble precision components for the most advanced machines in the world. With sites in Europe, Asia, and the US, we drive technological progress for leading players in the semiconductor and analytical instrument industries.
At NTS Drachten, everything revolves around precision, craftsmanship, and quality. We are a close-knit team of around 125 colleagues, proud of what we make and always focused on improvement. The atmosphere? Open, informal, and approachable. There’s room for initiative, humor, and personal growth.
Colleague Aron shares his experience
“At NTS Drachten, we work at Champions League level. We deliver parts that must be accurate to within a ten-thousandth of a millimeter. That makes our work both challenging and unique. As Quality Manager, you’ll have the chance to further professionalize our quality standards. You’ll work with passionate people who are proud of what they make and who always want to improve. If you enjoy a challenge, think in processes, and want to make an impact in a high-tech environment, then this is your place.”
