Job description
As a Mechanical Engineer at NTS Drachten, you are responsible for designing, constructing, and optimising tools and auxiliary tools for our machining and measuring machines. You work closely with our planners, technical specialists, project managers, and colleagues in production to ensure that new tools and processes are implemented efficiently.

Your focus is mainly on optimizing existing processes and developing new auxiliary tools. You are involved in drawing auxiliary tools for various production processes and come up with innovative solutions to improve tools, such as specific tools for machining or assembly.

Furthermore, your tasks include:

• Providing input on the manufacturability of the end products;

• Conceiving, designing, developing, and testing concepts based on quality requirements and/or specifications;

• Supporting colleagues in projects and providing advice on improvements;

• Conducting research within expertise and aligning technical issues and project progress with colleagues;

• Performing technical calculations and preparing additional manufacturing documents.

Requirements

• HBO degree in mechanical engineering/mechatronics;

• Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a similar position;

• Experience with machining production processes such as milling and turning, and material knowledge is a plus;

• Experience with working with Inventor, Solid Works, and/or Siemens NX;

• You have good knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerance technical standards;

• You are analytical, creative, stress-resistant, and accurate, able to work both independently and in a team;

• You have good communication skills, both in Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing.

For this challenge, we offer the following benefits:

• Salary of €3,850 - €5,500 based on full-time, depending on educational background and experience;

• Travel allowance paid monthly through a fixed allowance with a maximum of 50KM/one way and a reimbursement of €0.21 per km;
