Job description

At NTS, we make it possible together. Technology inspires and drives us; it is our passion. Every day we work on unique solutions to complex challenges. Whether it's ultra complex or ultra precise solutions, we are proud of what we do and what we deliver.

Job Description
As an Electrical Discipline Architect, you will be a key contributor to the design and development of complex high-tech (opto-)mechatronic systems and modules. You will define and lead the electrical architecture from concept to realization, ensuring technical integrity, regulatory compliance, and seamless system integration. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and customers, you will deliver innovative solutions that meet demanding technical and performance requirements.

This role combines deep technical expertise with leadership, offering the opportunity to guide engineering teams, influence product strategy, and work on the forefront of advanced technologies.

Furthermore, your key responsibilities are:

  • Translate customer requirements into robust, monodisciplinary electrical architecture concepts.

  • Define, document, and maintain the electrical architecture plan to support product development and project planning.

  • Lead and support the full lifecycle of electrical design: from concept, specification, and prototyping to verification and implementation.

  • Ensure the successful execution of projects in alignment with timeline, budget, and quality goals, identifying technical risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure robust system behaviour.

  • Ensure regulatory and standards compliance (CE, UL, SEMI, EMC, LVD, MD), including risk analysis and mitigation strategies.

  • Participate in product compliance activities and implement harmonized standards (e.g. EN60204, IEC 12100, IEC13849, etc).

  • Design and develop detailed electrical wiring diagrams, cabinets, and cable assemblies using 2D/3D CAD tools (e.g., E3Series, Solid Edge, NX).

  • Manage interfaces and dependencies within complex mechatronic systems in close collaboration with multidisciplinary stakeholders, like mechanical, software, and systems teams.

  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineers, acting as a knowledge carrier and driving discipline excellence.

  • Support project estimation, budgeting, and the quotation process with clear assessments of engineering effort and feasibility.

  • Lead product verification activities including electrical safety testing and compliance validation.

  • Stay current with technological developments and implement innovations that enhance performance, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement and participate in defining long-term technology roadmaps.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.

  • At least 8 years of experience in electrical system design and architecture, preferably within high-tech or mechatronic environments.

  • Experience with electrical component selection, electrical cabinet design, and EMC considerations.

  • Familiarity with product compliance standards (CE, UL, SEMI, EMC, LVD, MD) and harmonized directives (EN60204, IEC 12100, ISO 13849, etc.).

  • Proficient in design and engineering tools such as TeamCenter, E3Series, Solid Edge, and NX.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills; able to align stakeholders, lead teams, and influence decision-making.

  • Analytical, structured, and solution-oriented approach to complex technical challenges.
